Benahavis

Renowned as one of the wealthiest municipalities in Spain, Benahavis stands out as one of the most desirable and exclusive locations on the Costa del Sol. Covering an area of 150 km² between Marbella's coastline and the Serrania de Ronda, it boasts a prime location just a short drive from the vibrant Puerto Banus or the Golden Mile, while still providing the peace and serenity that comes with refined countryside living. As one of the areas with the highest concentration of golf courses, designed by renowned architects like Robert Trent Jones and José Gancedo, Benahavis creates a unique synergy with its stunning natural surroundings, featuring cork oaks, Mediterranean flora, mountain ranges, and charming rivers. In essence, Benahavis offers a country club lifestyle that perfectly balances the tranquility of Andalusian nature with the conveniences of urban living.

Natural Surroundings

If you enjoy natural pools, you'll be delighted by the Rock Pool and Charco de las Mozas in Benahavís. To access these spots, you'll need to park in the village or the nearby parking area and then take a scenic 2-kilometer walk.

- Exercise caution on the river hiking route; there are sections where swimming is required, and proper footwear for rocky terrain is essential.

Another must-visit destination is Torre Leonera Park, located just before reaching the Guadalmedina River. The park is named after the impressive tower that overlooks it, a defensive structure dating back to the 12th or 13th century.

Benahavís is an ideal family destination with its stunning location and diverse terrain. Nature lovers will enjoy numerous hiking trails with views of the Spanish coastline and northern Africa. The town features three rivers—Guadalmedina, Guadalmansa, and Guadaiza—offering beautiful river trails through scenic landscapes.

  •  The Guadalmina River trails are flat and suitable for all ages, featuring a route that leads to a picturesque wooden bridge.
  • The "dragonfly route" is another family favorite, hosting over 30 dragonfly species during the warmer months.
  • The Angosturas del Río Guadalmina area offers a moderate trail with natural pools for children to enjoy, starting at Las Mozas puddle, accessed via a natural slide.

These hikes provide a fun and safe experience for families to explore the outdoors together.

Benahavis Fair

Benahavís Fair stands out as the highlight of the festive calendar in this town on the Western Costa del Sol. Taking place in mid-August, the fair features a range of activities, such as a parade, evening celebrations, and the procession of the Virgen del Rosario. Then, in October, the town's patron saint takes center stage once again during the Romería.
